Pro- clean, friendly staff Con- expensive I brought my cat in due to a bald patch on her fur. I was very impressed with the first visit - the clinic was clean and the staff was knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive. I was surprised at the cost for the blood lab when I paid the bill. The second visit felt like they were unprepared for us - I waited in the room for 45 minutes until a tech came to visit us, with another costly follow-up blood lab. The vet changed our cat’s medicine which caused her to lose weight and her fur became brittle. They wanted us in for multiple blood labs a year and to change her medicine to a more expensive and difficult set up. We went back to our old vet who changed the medicine back and correctly identified the bald patch as the result of flea bites, which the vets at Ghent missed on both visits. The patch healed in a couple weeks with flea treatment. Glad to see so many positive reviews for this clinic, but they missed the mark for us!

They refuse to authorize prescriptions for any online pet supply stores. You will have to get a paper prescription and jump through the hoops yourself, or buy it from them at a mark-up. They were unable to give a logical reason for this policy but I think it's pretty clear. I have been a dog owner for 15 years and have never encountered this before. If I'd known this in advance I would have chosen another vet, because it suggests that they put profits above patients. So I'm letting people know this way so others can make an informed decision.
